Media Registration Eligibility Requirements
ATTENTION MEMBERS OF THE PRESS: SVP asks that you please pre-register if you are planning to attend the meeting and/or participate in the press conference at the SVP 68th Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio.
Journalists who are employed by accredited news organizations attending the meeting for the purpose of editorial coverage will be granted complimentary press credentials.
To qualify, journalists are required to pre-register online. They must present media identification (such as an international accredited press pass or a business card issued by a recognized news organization) at the registration desk at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel before they will be given their badge and registration materials.
Freelance journalists are also required to pre-register online. They must submit an official letter of assignment from an accredited news organization at the registration desk at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel before their will be given their badge and registration materials.
Companies or organizations producing publications, videos and/or other electronic media intended for marketing, advertising, financial analysis or public relations purposes may not register as press. Financial analysts and public relations personnel will not be granted press access.
Annual Meeting Embargo Policy
Press is required to abide by the embargo policies governing the SVP Annual Meeting. The embargo policy states that coverage of abstracts being presented at the Annual Meeting is strictly prohibited until the start time of the presentation. The embargo on poster presentations lifts when the poster session containing the poster opens for viewing. Content that may be pre-published online in advance of print publication is also subject to the SVP embargo policy.
Onsite Guidelines
Registered press are required to wear SVP press badges at all times while onsite at the SVP Annual Meeting. All scientific sessions, education sessions, oral and poster abstract sessions and the exhibit and poster hall at the Annual Meeting are open to the media.
Still photography, video and/or audio taping any of the SVP sessions or in the exhibit and poster hall is limited to those who have requested and been granted permission of SVP. Still photography, video and/or audio taping are allowed only when accompanied by an SVP press relations staff member.
Press Conference Policies
Press credentials are required for entry to the press conference. Company and public relations representatives are not permitted in the press conference. All public relations and corporate representatives are expected to be respectful of reporters' needs and deadlines.
The SVP Annual Meeting is a venue for delegates to come together and share ideas with each other in a relaxed setting. While we wish to accommodate members of the press, we are committed to preserving this valued opportunity, which our attendees report is the source of invaluable collaborations. We ask all members of the press to respect our mission, the meeting attendees’ time and the freedom we allow our delegates to discuss their work in a protected and informal environment.
