Deadline: The online field trip and workshop registration deadline ended Friday, July 31, 2009
Come early and stay late to participate in the unique pre- and post-meeting field trips and workshops, and explore the rich paleontological resources in England, Scotland, Wales and Germany. This year's field trips highlight the exceptional collections, geographical and excavation sites, and historic locations in the area.
Registration
The online field trip and workshop registration form is located at the end of the online SVP Annual Meeting registration process.
NOTE: Onsite field trip registration will not be accepted.
NOTE: Payment for field trips will be charged in pounds sterling (GBP).
Alterations or Cancellations
SVP reserves the right to alter or cancel a field trip due to low registration or if access to sites is limited or closed to the public. No refunds will be given unless the field trip is cancelled by SVP. If SVP does cancel a field trip, full reimbursement will be given to registrants for that field trip. If a registrant cancels, and a replacement attendee is identified, then Paul Barrett has the discretionary ability to allow a refund for that field trip, less a 50 GBP fee.

Conservators & Preparators Adhesives Workshop: Choice & Reason
Tuesday, September 22
9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: University of Bristol, Wills Memorial Building, Room G27
View up-to-date information on the speakers and organizers of this workshop.
Adhesives, bonding agents and glues — the distinctions are not always clear. Spend a day discussing what adhesives are, their behaviour and mis-behaviour. A recurrent topic in the conservator world, much can be gained by better understanding some straightforward principles. A seminar or two will broadly introduce some common aspects regarding use and misuse. These will be followed by speakers presenting their applications illustrating use and practice. Demonstrations and hands-on practice are on the menu. Preservation and conservation of Liassic fossils such as Ichtyosaurs and Plesiosaurs will receive attention, as will the consolidation of Pleistocene sub-fossil bone.
Confirmed speakers are Chris Collins (NHM), Amy Davidson (American Museum Natural History), Nigel Larkin (Norwich County Museum) and Dick Mol (Natuurmuseum Rotterdam). More speakers to be confirmed.
The venue will be a large teaching laboratory at the Wills Memorial Building in the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol. The workshop will come with handouts and other materials will be provided.
The day will start symposium style with speakers. In between sessions there will be plenty of time for discussions and questions. Hands-on examples will be on show. People are encouraged to bring queries and problems forward. After all, a large crowd of expertise will be present!
If you would like to bring a hands-on example for demonstration or questions, please let us know beforehand. We can then take into account the presence of this example and/or specimen.
NOTE: Lunch will be included. Note any dietary restrictions on the registration form.
Minimum and maximum attendees: 20 -50
Cost: 75 GBP
