To enable scientists from nations with developing economies to present research at the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP) Annual Meeting.
This program was established to offer annual awards to promote opportunities for international scientists who are otherwise unable to attend the annual meeting of the SVP. The award provides travel expenses to enable the recipient to present research in any area of vertebrate paleontology at the annual meeting.
Submission Guidelines
The SVP Program for Scientists from Economically Developing Nations supports only travel and/or conference costs to attend the SVP annual meeting. Eligible expenses include but are not limited to: airfare, lodging, alimentation, domestic transportation (between airport and meeting venue), SVP registration costs, travel visa and poster printing costs (if applicable). Applicants must meet the requirements below:
What to Submit
An application form, including an abstract and a one-page maximum (single-spaced) description of how the opportunity to present research at SVP will enhance the recipient’s career goals in vertebrate paleontology.
Abstract specifications:Applications lacking any of the requested information will not be reviewed.
- title of the abstract is limited to 255 characters (including spaces and punctuation).
- text of the abstract is limited to 2,200 characters (including spaces and punctuation)
- Author name is NOT included in the character count above
Deadline for Consideration
Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2008 at 12:01am (Central Time USA) through a postmarked date of January 31, 2009 at midnight (Central Time USA).
