Annual Meeting Embargo Policy
Press and photographers (this term includes all electronic recording technicians) are required to abide by the embargo policies governing the SVP Annual Meeting. Unless specified otherwise, coverage of abstracts presented orally at the Annual Meeting is strictly prohibited until the start time of the presentation, and coverage of poster presentations is prohibited until the relevant poster session opens for viewing. As defined here, "coverage" includes all types of electronic and print media; this includes blogging, tweeting and other intent to communicate or disseminate results or discussion presented at the SVP Annual Meeting. Content that may be pre-published online in advance of print publication is also subject to the SVP embargo policy.

Journalists should explicitly ask the lead or presenting author whether any other journals (e.g. Science, Nature etc.) or entities (e.g. universities etc.) have embargoes on the research in question that might impact press coverage. Merely abiding by SVP"s embargo policy does not necessarily mean on is in compliance with the policies of these other entities.

Onsite Guidelines
Press registration badges are given only after acceptable press credentials have been presented and registration has been processed. SVP reserves the right to refuse press registration to an applicant for any reason. Photographers must have a press registration. Press representatives and photographers are required to wear SVP press badges at all times while on site at the SVP Annual Meeting. All scientific sessions, education sessions, oral and poster abstract sessions and the exhibit and poster hall at the Annual Meeting are open to registered press representatives, but NOT photographers. All interviews and other contact between members of the press and members of the SVP should be held outside of oral scientific sessions, poster-viewing areas, and other similar venues, so as not to disturb the proceedings.

Still photography, video and/or audio taping or any other electronic recording at the SVP annual meeting is strictly prohibited, with the exception of the designated SVP press event. (The SVP reserves the right to engage professional photographers or audio/videotape professionals to archive sections of the meeting for the Society"s use.)
